OUR STORY

5 wks, 15 dogs, 5000 miles, 3 guys crazy enough...

Flashback 5 yrs ago, Tucson: a stray came wandering into the back yard, found a lady friend, started a family. The family kept growing until there were 20. Somewhere along the way a dream to have them race the Iditarod...

Flashforward, Present day, Alaska: The race was never raced, the family's double the size and the winters too harsh, this is where we come in. Driving them from Alaska through the lower 48, finding them good homes along the way.

Heart in limbo

I have become very attached to the pup that I have been traveling with and am not sure that I can give him up. It is too soon for me to be attached and I have too many that need me. I am kind of overwhelmed. I got to just breath though it. I would love to see him go to someone I know so I could have him in my life. ug. I am pulled in so may directions at once and am riding a spider wire.

I am on a scouting mission from alaska to california. I brought two puppys with me and found what I hope to be a great home for one. now I have to find a landing pad and a bunch of what I am calling regional adoption managers to help find dog lovers along the way in canada and the western usa. I also have to find some people that will help me with the trip. Still pretty up in the air but I am getting them out of alaska.

Friends Please

Well it is high time to start finding homes for the puppies, and I have one young lady that is interested. And another that would like the best socialized dogs. This is going to be very hard and the dogs that I would most like to have as my own are going to go first. I really would like to see them go to friends Please. this is hard enough as it is. Please consider opening up your doors to a new member of the family. Elijah

Finding a home with Health

I would like to start a health club. I would like to start it with a nice location on the west coast that is cool, north of san fransico oregon, washington. somewhere like that. I am also open to something on the east coast. Something that you could sail to from a big city. maine or up the hudson. I would like to get a piece of land with potential to grow food with good water. Pay it off. no dept. and declare it a place for healers to heal and heal the ailments of the world. From thier we could design a town with urban density that is ultra low impact on the environment. We could develop solutions to societal problems and impliment them. Well that is what I would like to do, anyone? what a life that would be. anyway. Foster homes. I am planning to take a trip down to the west coast to look for a landing pad for the dogs and I. I would love to bring a few dogs down with me and get the fostering moving if you live in ca. or. washington state. drop me a line. I would love to get the foster care moving. looking for loving, active, good dog people, and if you are into healing, concsiousness and animal rights that is a bonus. Thanks, and be greatful for the things you take forgranted. Elijah

Search for homes/ help/ and a place to go.

Hi everyone I set up this blog to let you know about my urgent situation, and how you can help. I find myself in willow Alaska with a large family of dogs, living in a situation that will be very difficult to manage through the winter. I have till the middle of September to find a place to go, find homes for many of the dogs, pack, and travel through Canada before the Arctic winter sets in. As you may or may not know my father was raising these dogs in order to teach them to be sled dogs as well as help humanity come to a deeper understanding of animals and our relationship with them. That story will be told in its entirety in due time. For now we face a coming storm of winter and subzero temperatures under poor living conditions with nowhere to go. I have had trouble adopting the dogs do to my attachment to them and my fathers dream for them. I hoped that I could find homes for them in a way that followed with the intention of the process. This has proved difficult. I have reached a point of being totally overwhelmed. But enough of the downer. I will be fine, just have to get used to the cold pot.(toilet) as my paps used to say. But really these dogs are like family to me. Just like your family pet except I have 45 of them. I would really like to see some of them go to Friends or friends of friends. Or if you don't want to take on a dog right now maybe you could foster care for one or two until you can place them in new homes. Come on up to Alaska and fly a few back with you. Or help me drive back with a whole bunch. Or have your friends foster home them and I can drop them off. I am also looking for a place to go. Just about anywhere will be better than her in the winter. It just needs to be remote so that the neighbors won't complain. A big ranch would be ideal, then I would have a little more time to find foster homes and forever homes. so that is that. for now. I am willing to help with transportation costs for the dogs if people would like to help. Feel free to email me at egoodfarm@gmail.com or any other emails you have for me. This is a pretty serious situation and needs assistants ASAP. LOve Elijah. The journey Is in need of help form you.
